Summary

Gentlemen start your engines. Electronic Arts have an answer to Gran Turismo in the shape of Sports Car GT for the PC. Strap yourself into the cockpit and say your prayers, wait for the lights and go, go, go. How does the idea of racing a McLaren F1 grab you? Only the best will win.

Sports Car GT is a comprehensive and challenging racing title. It successfully brings home the excitement of GT racing. EA have gone to great lengths to get right the artificial intelligence of the other drivers. It feels like you are actually driving against human opponents. Winning a close race is what racing is all about.

Sports Car GT has three classes of cars. Each class has a limit on maximum brake horsepower rating to ensure a competitive race. The GT1 class has some seriously speedy machines to choose from: Vector M-12, Porsche GT1 and Mercedes CLK GTR to name but a few.

It would be a crime if your cars weren’t tuneable, and luckily jail is out of the question. Turbo kits, intercoolers and racing brake kits can enhance the performance and handling characteristics of your car.

Sports Car GT also features day and night racing with variable weather conditions. Driving in the wet is fun, just don't put the power down too fast. To add to the competitive spirit, up to four players can race against each other via a network or the Internet.

Overall, Sports Car GT offers a good driving and racing experience, especially when used with a steering wheel.
