Summary

Team 17, England’s leading independent software developer, have delved into the racing world with Stunt GP on the PC. Stunt GP is a high octane racing experience albeit in a miniature sense using radio controlled cars.

The gameplay in Stunt GP is divided up into four main modes; arcade mode, exhibition mode, time trail, stunt challenge mode and finally championship mode. The arcade mode allows you to jump straight into the action with the minimal amount of fuss and it is straightforward to pick a track, difficulty and how many opponents you would like to race against. The exhibition mode is completely customisable and you can use the new vehicles and tracks you have unlocked. Time Trail is you Vs. the clock as you attempt to practice the tracks and perfect your racing lines. One cool aspect of time trail is that you have two ghosts of your best attempts racing with you at the same time. The stunt challenge is like a radio controlled car version of Tony Hawk’s skateboarding, very entertaining. The championship mode is a full season of racing, where you can upgrade your car and earn new ones.

What makes Stunt GP different from all of the other racing games is how you earn your car upgrades. You have a stunt button that will allow you to do tricks when you are in the air. If you land these stunts you are rewarded with aeromiles that can be used for upgrades. Stunts can be done in combination for high scoring possibilities.

Stunt GP has been made with the intention to be fun right from the very start, and it is. Up to four-people can play using the same PC and Stunt GP has several top customisable multi-player games on offer. The single player experience is balanced and there is a lot of gameplay to make your way through. Stunt GP looks and plays lovely, what more could you want?
