Summary

Yet another game to add to the crowded war-based RTS genre, Bitmap Brothers' World War II Frontline Command will no doubt stand tall as one of the most challenging in its field.

As a commander of Allied forces in Europe in the last year of World War II, players enter into combat with the Axis forces and drive the enemy back deep inside its own territory. With a full range of authentic troops and equipment at your disposal, you must become a master of the battlefield to ensure final victory.

The detailed and complex game is rendered in full 3D and spans some of the most lush and realistic 3D environments ever seen for a game of this type. As you begin each mission you will be issued with a set of objectives that must be achieved if you are to proceed. Some missions may focus purely on strategy and tactics, whereas others may be less complicated, enlisting players to eliminate as many enemies as possible.

Quite simply, you are to command an army of troops across these conflicted environments, positioning them and giving them orders. This is done using a click-and-drag method, giving players the ability to split their armies into groups and give each of them different orders. But precision and the positioning of your troops is vital as it effects how efficient you are in battle. In some cases it can even sway the outcome of a specific conflict.

World War II: Frontline Command is a vey commendable strategy game and one that stands proudly with its RTS brothers.
