Summary
It is 1951 and Western Europe is awash with blood. The savage creatures known as the Chimera have destroyed the armies and reduced the cities to rubble. Now the last human survivors plan to launch a desperate assault on the strongholds of the invaders. It is time for retribution.
Set in the weeks following the events depicted in Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance: Retribution follows the story of former British Marine James Grayson. After a personal tragedy - we are going to try not to give too much away here, but it involves his brother and a Chimeran Conversion Centre - Grayson lights out on a mission to decimate every Conversion Centre he can find. Unfortunately, Grayson eventually finds out that his destructive behaviour has been a futile exercise, as it is revealed to him that in Western Europe, the Chimera have come up with a new way of converting humans to aliens. The European resistance - the Maquis - enlist Grayson's help, and he joins Cartwright and Parker in Operation Overstrike. The war to take back the European continent from the Chimera has begun.
