Summary

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm

Differing from the arena-based battles favoured by Tekken, Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm takes the fight from the arena and out into an explorable world where the player can roam and use the environment the their advantage.

But hold on - it's not all about fighting! Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm features an "Ultimate Mission" adventure mode. With 100 separate missions, the mode takes players through the tale told in the original animated TV series and through to the Sasuke Retrieval storyline.

The visuals easily compare with the high quality animation of the TV series - essential to conveying the spectacles that are the battles between the amazing powers possessed by the game's characters and the colossal, legendary enemy creatures of the Naruto universe. To assist in these epic clashes, players can select their dream three-man team and instruct allies to defend or perform attacks.

With its mixture of 25 playable characters, cinematic-quality story, free roaming adventure and open battle grounds, Naruto fans without a PS3 must surely be thinking of raiding the piggy bank...

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 starts off with a pretty grim outlook on things. Female lead character Sakura is on her knees against a backdrop of rubble what looks to be the remains of a village. She calls out for Naruto just as one of the criminal Akatsuki warriors surveys the damage and plots for a final blow. From there, we get to play through the events that took place that led to this wave of chaos and destruction.

In this interactive retelling of the Naruto Shippuden story arc, we get to play as the feisty ninja - all grown up, after going on something of a wilderness sabbatical with a ninja tutor. It seems that the Akatsuki hasn't yet given up on its mission to extract the mythical beasts that lie dormant within Naruto and fellow cursed teenager Gaara, and it is in fact a kidnapping of the latter that kickstarts the quest to stop the villainous organisation at all costs.

Fusing the frantic action of a one-on-one fighting game with the exploration and backstory of an adventure title, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 keeps the gameplay fresh and offers a lot of depth to the tried and tested beat'em up genre. Use the help of companions found in the story to assist you in battles, create new items that can be used in the arena and learn new techniques that can cause some explosive damage.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3: Full Burst

Naruto is back, and things just keep getting bigger and bigger. Based on the fan-favourite anime series Naruto Shippuden, Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 boasts a hurricane of action and adventure sure to go down well with fans of the orange-suited ninja kid.

The game features the biggest roster of characters seen in a Naruto game so far, meaning you're sure to get chance to get stuck in with some of your favourites. That includes no less than 80 playable characters, so there's plenty of choice on offer.

In the single-player mode you'll fight through the events of the Fourth Great Ninja War. For the first time, players can interact with the storyline even as it plays in Japan and streams online. There's one-versus-many action as well as titanic boss battles so you can flex your different fighting muscles.

You can take things beyond the story mode with a raft of online features. You can set up your own tournaments, compete in friendly player matches and size up the competition with player cards that show win/loss records and fighting styles.

With the Full Burst edition players also get the added bonus of an additional chapter, Kabuto becoming playable, 100 new missions, 38 new costumes and revamped cinematics!

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4: Road to Boruto

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4: Road to Boruto (which must be in the running for the title of longest game title ever) packs in a ton of content for Naruto fans. It brings together the core game, all previously-released DLC and the brand new Road to Boruto expansion.

The action of the original game covers one of the final arcs of Naruto's story, thrusting him once again into a series of battles. Unlike other beat-'em-ups, the Ultimate Ninja Storm series has its characters fight in a series of 3D arenas, with frenzied combat being the order of the day. One addition (or, more accurately, returning feature that skipped a game) that will be welcomed by fans is wall running, adding a new dimension back into combat.

Make no mistake, this is decidedly not Street Fighter or Tekken. The action can get crazy and all hell can break loose, such as if you choose to call upon your summon, an action that could see a creature such as Gamakichi, the giant toad, turn up to stomp foes.

The new Road to Boruto story content follows Boruto Uzumaki s exploits from BORUTO: Naruto the Movie. While he tries to pass his chuunin exam, a new threat faces the shinobi worldand the impetuous Momoshiki and his loyal servant Kinshiki seek to pull you into a brutal conflict...

One thing's for certain, the Ninja Storm series is going out with a serious bang!
