Summary

For centuries Hell has been fertile ground for the imagination - from Dante's Inferno to Doom to the video game of Dante's Inferno - and few have leaned into it quite as hard as Madmind Studio.

In Agony you begin your journey as a martyr sent to Hell. Your goal (as is the case for pretty much anyone consigned to Hell) is escape. But it's not going to be easy, nor is it going to be pretty. (Well, it is *sort of* going to be pretty - Agony has some impressive visuals, but you really have to be into the blood/hot coals/eternal torment aesthetic). The queen of this dark domain is the Red Goddess, and if you want to get out you're going to have to come face to face with this queen of Hell.

To get there, you'll play through a mix of survival horror and stealth mechanics in the first-person. What sets Agony apart and deepens the level of strategy is your ability to possess and control other martyrs. As you progress you'll even be able to move up to the big fry of hell, the demons themselves.

Agony is basically the exact opposite of a walk in the park, but for those who can stomach a Clive Barker-esque journey through pain and terror, there are rewards to be had.
