Summary

Though the title of Dillon s Dead-Heat Breakers isn't quite as much of a clue to its setting as Dillon s Rolling Western was, the developers behind the 'Red Flash' have changed things up quite a bit in this mash-up of action racing and tower defense.

For starters, although there's still a Western streak in there, this time out it's been blended with a post-apocalyptic world inspired by the likes of Mad Max and Book of Eli. 80 years ago a cataclysmic event wrecked the world. Survivors hole up in 'The City' and its outlying frontier towns, but no-one is truly safe now that a mysterious ship has unleashed a horde of powerful monsters.

The second big change is that, in line with the younger audience the previous game attracted for Dillon, the difficulty has been ramped down a bit to make the game more accessible.

The good news is that the core gameplay is present and intact. You can get ready for battle by helping local businesses and winning races, then stock up, toughen up barricades and man the defenses to take on 30 different monster types as they come for you. They'll transform into wheeled form leading to action-packed races, and you'll tackle them in open world combat as you explore.

As an added bonus, you can even bring an animalised version of your mii into the world, and see your friends' mii's wandering around!
