Summary

The tea-time TV show for geeks with excessive disposable incomes and too much time on their hands has arrived for a second outing on the PC, giving Robot Wars fans everywhere another reason not to go out and partake in social activities.

Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction challenges your combat skills to the absolute max by pitting players head-to-head against the toughest warriors in the Robot Wars arena.

As in the TV show, players construct their own combat robot. A massive selection of parts and weapons is available, making for a wide variety of possible designs. This allows players to concentrate on particular strengths of the robot, like going for the offensive option by arming it with a massive arsenal of weapons, or alternatively going with agility and creating a machine that's fairly nippy around the arena. There are also a number of the more popular robots from the show, giving players the opportunity to take control of one of their particular favourites.

As well as the well-known BBC studio arena, the game also features a further seven international locations for the battles, such as a New York subway, a Japanese rooftop, a Sao Paulo scrap yard, and a German car factory.

Aside from the standard TV show game, Extreme Destruction also features a range of alternative game modes. Obviously the more popular option with players of this game, the single player game offers options such as Endurance, Football and Sumo. Also thrown in there is a split-screen, multiplayer option, which allows players with friends the chance to host their own Robot Wars events.
