Not really sure how Nintendo will go on this one, on the one hand Nintendo have a massive casual gamer base and obviously want to keep those, but the Wii greatly excluded the Hardcore and as such the next console, Needs to cater for that, Nintendo always had the most powerful console right up to the Gamecube and the Wii was a big sway away from that which paid off, I cant imagine them killing of the Wii name but I can see them taking it up a level in the graphics and `try` to cater for both markets.
I think what he says is about right, they would quite easily upgrade a Wii system to PS3 quality (blu ray player please Nintendo). the tech will be cheap enough and the graphics should hopefully impress enough for hardcore gamers and the casual ones will just like owning something new and shiny.
I bought the Move this year, I absolutely love it. But yeah, it def needs more games..This is how it is with every new gaming system that come out though. I can not wait for Killzone 3 to come out on the move..I know they have an awesome line up of games coming out very soon. Remember the wii games when it first came out? They were boring as hell..games are being made fast than ever in the gaming industry!
Nintendo has never really been about technological advancements, so it wouldn't surprise me if the wii 2 would be worse than the PS3. But obviously in terms of the number of people who buy it, the wii would probably come out on top. Another point: I was under the impression that Sony part "owned" Blue ray. Would they really let Nintendo use it in their consoles?
Sony would let Microsoft use BD spec, of course MS and Nintendo will have to pay up for it though I don't think Sony see`s BD as a exclusive tool to the PS3 the inclusion of which was like the inclusion of DVD in the PS2, its more about the revenue they would make from use of BluRay than as a marketing tool.
Mario Galaxy 1/2 looks amazing, so if what he says is true I dont really care. Non biased core gamers bought the Wii because the experiences it offered at the time were completely different from the compition. Ok now Sony and MicroSoft are joining in, but should Nintendo be worried about being under powered... No. Nintendo just need one casual game next year that uses the Wii Motion Plus, and then it'll start selling made again.
Well, the Gamecube was regarded as a failure yet had a 6 year life span. Nintendo are in no hurry to release the Wii 2, I promise you that.
However, I expect to see more peripherals for Motion plus coming out next year along with a console price drop.
2011...... 1 - Wrist and ankle controllers - great for boxing/fighting/exercise games. 2 - Xvid + Divx player exclusive to the Wii and free. 3 - Star Wars Arcade Trilogy (LONG overdue) 4 - Better Wiiware titles ie. Jett Rocket/Pearl Harbor/ROT Gladiator quality. 5 - Space Combat par online excellence...ie.... Star Lancer 2.
