If they can hack the ps3, then i'm sure others will find a way too. By publishing the results, it forces the corporation (Sony) to fix the problem asap. Of course, if the problem is not fixable, they then have to revise anything they said about the ps3 being unhackable. You could argue that they (the hacker) should've told Sony via e-mail and not made the findings public. However, then you could argue, 1) Sony would probably either a) not care, or b) not listen, 2) Sony would keep it all hush hush and still maintain that the ps3 is hack-proof / top of the range hacker-deterent (which it clearly isn't, if the hacker is telling the truth).
In any case, the truth will soon be revealed one way or another, forcing Sony to act or tell us how this hacker was lying, blah blah blah...i don't care anymore.
