I remember phoning Lucas Arts for Monkey Island help, I then remember my dad "Who has been f**king ringing 0891"?? but today I don't use walk through`s except I did for Arkham Asylum as so I could 100%.
Also i remember when i rang Lucas Arts i didnt seem to be going through to a call centre it was like i was directly connected to the dev team, as when i asked questions they would be like, "hey Frank, how do you get pas that part on monkey island", "errr cant remember ask bill" "Yo Bill," etc etc, i loved it, the guy would come back and say "we think you have to do this, go try ill hold," so I would try come back "it worked", "great"
***n00b weblink removed*** /> Really agree with this article, I wouldn't use a walk through for say Fallout or Red Dead but games like Monkey Island were its play against the Dev's mental mind im all for it!
Cool piece. Yeah, I have no trouble using a guide, most of the time for when I get stuck, Gamefaqs is a dream. Apart from that, if I have a game with piss hard achievements, I'll check you tube for video help.
Nothing wrong with a small bit of help, now and then. I complete more of my games than I ever could without them. Word to the wise, just don't use a guide all the way through. Doing so will spoil your fun.
