Virtucraft, was formed in 1999 with a primary focus on games for Nintendo's GameBoy Advance. Co-founded by Brian Beuken, the company was initially financed by Beuken himself using funds from his final freelance project.
The company's headcount peaked at over 30 staff, yet despite producing well known GBA titles such as Dexter's Laboratory Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and Rocky, Virtucraft never scored a major hit.
In late 2003 the company hit trouble when a major publishing client began suffering financial problems. As is too often the case in these circumstances, the effects rippled out to suppliers. As a result of the loss of backing for project in development, Virtucraft was forced to close.
Virtucraft's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1999 title, "Micro Machines Twin Turbo" (Game Boy Color).
The company has been involved titles released on the GBA and Game Boy Color.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2002 release "Rocky" (GBA).
