Summary

Anyone familiar with Strider, either in the arcade or later emulated on the Playstation, will know that a great deal of enjoyment is extracted from the ability to leap around, latching onto virtually any surface, while slicing, slashing and dicing the incoming enemy.

Not so on this C64 version.

The rate is play is painful. As you begin a slide, sword flashing, one begins to wonder if the slide will never end. You don't so much slide, as creep along the floor. Jumping also takes place in some kind of dream world, with a single leap seeming to last for tens of seconds. Additionally, whole portions of the levels appear to have been omitted. These faults, linked with poor collision detection that see the player getting stucking on almost every corner, and the most dreadful graphics makes for a very sad experience.
