Summary

Ah yes, this is more like it. Less arcadey than it's predecessors, our copy of Type 4 came complete with a demo of the 1993 version, seemingly just to demonstrate how far this title has come.

No longer the slot racer-alike of yore, RR Type 4 is a fine looking beast with lots of depth. The experience begins as you, professional race driver that you are, choose one of four teams to race for. Be warned, the team managers are very hard to please, so you had better be on top form.

In Real Racing Roots Grand Prix mode, it's a tough nut to crack, for sure. You have a limited number of chances to qualify for progressive races on some beautifully designed courses. The ability to set up your chosen car is a huge bonus, and if done correctly, the speed and handling can rival any other driving or racing game I've seen.
