Summary

Aerowings attempts to do what few have attempted, and far fewer have succeeded in doing... producing a flight sim that appeals to arcade games players.

Such games always run the risk of not being action packed enough for combat fans, and not realistic enough for flight sim aficionados. Aerowings is probably guilty of this too, but for those who seek something a bit more challenging than G-Loc, it's a good start. The joypad control method is a bit restricted, but the Dreamcast's analogue joystick makes the whole thing pretty accurate to control, and the planes are responsive. The graphics are OK, but not outstanding for a console of this power. Some more detail on the landscapes would be nice.

There's a bunch of planes to get to grips with and a host of aerobatic traning missions over a variety of terrains. Turning 'smoke' on lets you practice for a career in sky-writing. Aspiring pilots everywhere, get your (Aero)Wings.
