Summary
One of the most popular puzzle titles in history makes its way onto Dreamcast in the form of Bust-A-Move 4. This bubble bursting frenzy was said to be just as addictive as it’s predecessors. Is the winning formula still there? I think so.
Once again, you must make your way through the hundreds of challenges by matching up three bubbles of the same colour. Strategy is the game here, especially when you are competing against a second player. Rather than matching bubbles at the bottom of the screen, you can also match bubbles at the top of the screen, causing a knock-on effect whereby all the bubbles underneath will fall. This is the best way to win, but also the hardest. Aiming can be extremely difficult; one miss fire and you may lose the game. There is an aid at hand for beginners of BAM4, whereby you are given a firing line enabling you to see where the bubble is going to be placed.
Raw action aside, there are a number of other options for you to play around with. There is a light hearted story mode here, loosely based around the collection of bubbles. Other modes include puzzle and arcade. With so much variety, BAM4 is sure to keep you going for a long, long time.
