Summary

While casinos are becoming more and more popular in today’s society, it can’t be argued that the demand for such venues doesn’t exceed that in Las Vegas. Traditionally the home of casino games, Black Jack and the slots are now being released for home computers. 3DO’s Vegas Games 2000 is the most recent game of its kind for PC that allows you to run the risks of betting thousands of dollars without the consequences of bankruptcy.

After creating a new player, you will be automatically granted a sum of five thousand dollars, which you must gamble in the game’s casino. There are twelve different games, some of which have different approaches and variations, including four versions of Black Jack, Roulette, Slots, Keno and Craps. Your goal is to obtain the highest amount of cash through playing these games and then deposit your winnings into the bank via an ATM. No more than five thousand dollars can be gambled at any one time, and should you go bankrupt, the game will finish. You should bank any winnings, no matter how small, since the computer always knows what cards you’re holding and what numbers you’re betting on. You will often find, as in real life, that you can initially win large amounts of cash with relative ease, but once your luck changes, you can lose twice as much cash twice as easily.

A multi-player game over the net brings much more competition into the experience. Ultimately, Vegas Games allows you, the player, to gamble wildly at very little cost.
