Following the success of the Tycoon series and the takeover of Hasbro, Infogrames has re-released the Rollercoaster Tycoon games in one handy package.
Titled Rollercoaster Tycoon, this package boasts the most complete and up-to-date rollercoaster technology available and incorporates it into a highly playable simulator.
The original Rollercoaster Tycoon made its PC debut back in 1999 to an audience of coaster enthusiasts, eager to realise their virtual dream. Rollercoaster design has never been so simple. Gone are the days of masters degrees and long term university studies: Rollercoaster Tycoon allowed the game-playing publics’ minds to wander free. The game’s success brought on the development of not one add-on pack, but two.
The Loopy Landscapes edition contains both expansions in one handy little package. Veterans of the series can now get their teeth stuck into another 30 scenarios, all of which are just as challenging as its predecessors. Six new themes have been included, allowing for some increasingly original park designs that will help your park look more attractive than ever. A surprising new addition is the inclusion of some real parks. Replicas of Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, two of Europe’s most popular parks, have been made available for you to play around with.
As far as technology is concerned, Totally Tycoon features a plethora of inversions, rollercoaster types and train types, all of which feature the latest true-to-life creations. John Wardley at Bolliger and Mabillard, creators of Nemesis and Oblivion at Alton Towers, has been involved with the authentication of the game.
So rest assured, vertical drops, bunny hops and heart-line twists are all available for you to frighten your park guests with. Try to keep the death toll to a minimum and enjoy.
