Summary

Even though Gremlin - the now-defunct Sheffield studio - is no more, the company's legacy lives on thanks to the efforts of fellow South Yorkshire types Zoo Digital Publishing. Gremlin's Actua series is one of its most fondly remembered offerings - a sports range that was the cream of the crop in its early PlayStation heyday. Well, now it's been revived with Actua Tennis on PC.

Though the Actua series was prominent in the early days of 3D gaming, Actua Tennis was one game that suffered numerous setbacks and delays. But the extra development time paid off for Gremlin, and for the PC version, gameplay is fluid and player control is how it should be. There is a variety of match options, a reasonable list of players and an array of shots available. There's a great two-player option too, but there's also stiff competition for solo players. It's all good.
