Summary

Infogrames' Stuntman is one of the most original games to emerge on PlayStation 2. After all, there are only a handful of games based on film stunt driving, but this genre has exploded, and here's another from BAM, called Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver for Xbox.

Developed by Imagine, Chase puts its players in the role of Chase Corrada, a promising young stuntwoman on the road to fame. You will take her through several film sets, each with four scenes. All involve vehicles of some sort and range from dune buggies to the three-wheeled Tuk-Tuks. Each scene has a predetermined path, and is littered with a number of stunt opportunities. Explosions, jumps and crashes are a certainty but your own skill will determine how spectacular the stunt is, and more importantly, how impressed your employers will be.

There are several game modes - Career, Challenge and Multi-player - a total of 16 scenes to complete and a dynamic camera replay system that lets you view your own work from multiple angles. As a bonus, good performances are often rewarded with new challenges and hidden play modes. Multi-player modes allow up to four players to participate simultaneously in competitive challenges. Four-player split screen also looks great, with little slowdown or loss of detail.

So if you fancy starring in a post-apocalyptic film or a 1920's gangster movie, Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver is a great choice. Expect to see more games of this ilk in the near future.
