Summary

Frogger Advance: The Great Quest is a sprawling platform game, mixing fast-paced action with an addictive collection element. Spanning four huge worlds, each divided into four sub-stages and with a major adversary at the end, players control the heroic amphibian as he runs, jumps and swims through each level. Each area is crammed with hazardous objects and deadly adversaries, that should either be avoided, jumped on or knocked out with a flick of Frogger's sticky tongue.

Staying true to the addictive gameplay of the Frogger franchise, The Great Quest's central hero benefits from greater athleticism. The green-skinned hero can use his jumping skills to avoid or KO foes, while his jumping skills also come into play when collecting the hundreds of bonus items that punctuate the scrolling stages. Swimming also plays a major part in the action, with several stages involving action under the surface of ponds and lakes where even more bonuses lie.

Frogger Advance: The Great Quest also includes the ability to add new moves to Frogger's repertoire, with double jumps and power glides mastered on attaining certain goals. It all adds up to a stunning reinvention of a true video game classic, proving that Frogger has as much appeal today as he did in his 1985 debut title.
