Summary

There's a vast number of combat-based aviation games around these days, so it's nice when one comes along called Search and Rescue. With weapons strictly forbidden, Search and Rescue 3 is a refreshing flight game of the helicopter variety and it's great fun.

Taking complete control over any of three choppers and their respective rescue crews, your job is to set out on a goodwill mission to save the lives of the injured, sick, and the just plain stupid. The Single Mission option alone comprises of over 100 missions that span typical locations such as forests and mountains, as well as urban hotspots such as racetracks and beaches.

You'll encounter more injuries than you thought possible as you discover snapped bungee cords, gunshot wounds, meningitis and even jellyfish stings. But it's not just a case of finding the victim and taking them to the nearest hospital. Flying a chopper is no easy task, and you have to negotiate strong winds and manage heavy weights to complete a mission successfully. The chopper also responds to the torque and hover effect with remarkable realism, but a variety of camera views will help you keep control in those nasty weather conditions. It's a great physics engine that has been greatly improved over its predecessors for unrivalled realism.

With a lengthy campaign option and a random mission generator, Search and Rescue 3 certainly has lasting gameplay and longevity. If nothing else, it'll last until Search and Rescue 4. We can hardly wait.
