Summary

Strangely kicking off the new year with a role-playing game and not an RTS, CDV has unleashed Grom to a PC-owning community of wizard and warrior wannabes.

It's 1942, and the Nazis are searching for the Lost City, which is believed to be the location of the twelve mysterious weapons of King Arjuna - any one of which is capable of destroying entire nations. But there's one man who causes the expedition to run into difficulties, successfully thwarting the Nazis' plans of world domination. His name is Grom, Colonel Grom, and he has an old score to settle.

You’d be forgiven on first glance for thinking you had accidentally bought a strategy game. The isometric point of view and the wartorn 2D backdrops are reminiscent of a strategy game, but there are enough heavy role-playing elements to outweigh any RTS-like gameplay.

There’s a heavy emphasis on character development, dazzling magical effects, a deep storyline and a bestiary of fictional beasts to combat. There are weapons, statistics and puzzles, all contributing to the overall feel of the game. It’s a true RPG, and a challenging one at that, believe us. CDV are known for their games' depth of play, and this one is no exception.
