There's no denying that the PC platform has always played host to an abundance of RTS epics, whether they happen to be Age of Empires or the more futuristic Command and Conquer. The bottom line is a large selection of PC gamers love them. So without further ado, let us introduce the next game destined for the real-time strategy hall of fame - Mindscape's Besieger.
A typical strategy affair in so many ways, Besieger teaches its players the basics of growing their own empire, how to defend their efforts and how manage resources and materials. The single-player game is home to 12 massive and realistic landscapes that give players ample opportunity to set up base, build their empire and progress further into the game. Of course, it's never a smooth ride, and you'll constantly find yourself face-to-face with an array of native foes that include Orcs, Centaurs, Werebears and Skeletons. However, if you've done your job properly and managed your people well, such encounters should pose only a few problems.
Of course, those not content with just the single player game are able to take to the battlefields of this new strategy game with up to 15 others in game modes that comprise of Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Co-operative, Hold Artefact, King of the Hill and Alone Against All.
With a convincing fantasy world, real-time weather, varying game conditions, upgradeable units and two races, Besieger stands tall in a crowd of generic RTS offerings.
