The Holy War is over. Demons of Gologotha have been banished, yet the cost has been terribly high. The Creator, God of the Fyllid, has been defeated and faith among the people has begun to wane. Petty squabbles among the five remaining Gods have caused the land to split into five mystical territories - each at war with one another. Into this divided land steps a wizard, a man haunted by his past, whose choices will shape the future. Which God will he choose? Will he sacrifice himself to change this world for the better, or will what remains of this world be sacrificed for one God's glory?
Sacrifice fearlessly combines elements of genres as diverse as role-playing, strategy, and action, with a fast-paced system of resource management and spell-casting.
By attempting to appease one of five strange, omnipotent gods, players take the role of a wizard, and must collect and sacrifice enemies' souls on nightmarish altars in order to gain more power and access to ever more powerful spells. The single-player game offers a campaign in which each of the 46 levels demands you appease or infuriate a particular god in order to gain increasing power.
