PlanetSide: Core Combat - PC

Originally launched in May 2003, Ubi Soft’s Planetside was one of the industry’s most accomplished massively-multiplayer first-person shooters. A hugely popular game, Planetside allowed literally thousands of players to fight online in a 24/7 global war that is relatively new to the first-person shooter genre. The game took squad-based combat to the next level and delivered voice chat functionality to further enhance the experience of fighting together with a squad and working as a team.

The introduction of Planetside: Core Combat, expands on the original offering and brings with it a plethora of new features.

Below the continents of Auraxis lie the secrets to an ancient alien technology. Join your fellow comrades in uncovering these vast caverns and the technology that will give your empire the edge on the battlefields above. If you and your teammates have the skill and perseverance to emerge victorious, you will unlock the technology and tools to gain powerful new weapons, vehicles, underground transports and enhanced empire bonuses.

Though gameplay remains largely the same, Core Combat plays host to six new underground war zones, head-to-head urban style combat, new and technologically advanced vehicles, unique alien complexes, fresh gaming locales such as volcanoes and ice caverns, and ancient technology that can be used by all Empires to upgrade existing facilities.

Core Combat is a fine addition to the Planetside world, and it’s unlikely that it will be the last add-on we'll see for it. more
