Summary

Who can resist the charm of the Power Rangers, with their fantastically disjointed live action TV series and their ability to form, like Voltron, when face by a really big dinosaur/alien/robot/man in unconvincing suit.

It turns out that they have Power Rangers in the future, too, as well as at American high schools in the 90s. In the distant future, when Earth is inhabited by peacefully coexisting aliens of many races, all that stands between the planet and domination by greedy fiends is the excitingly named Power Ranger Space Force Delta. And it’s lucky they are there, because the insufferable Emperor Grumm has taken a shine to our blue planet and somebody’s got to stop him.

The rangers come in colours you’ll already be familiar with, and each of them has special powers to help you in the game. Red Ranger can walk through walls, Pink Ranger can morph her hands like a T-1000, Yellow can reproduce asexually, Blue can shield himself with a force field and Green can detect people psychically. There’s also the Shadow ranger who has some really impressive strings to his shadowy bow.

Gameplay is divided into nine ‘episodes’ and you’ll be familiar with the concept. Beat seven bells out of hordes of goons before facing an end of level boss. Racing sections and Megazord battles add extra dimensions to it all, too. The rangers look good on the screen and you’ll need to be quick on your thumbs if you want to defeat the evil Emperor and his thugs. Go Go Power Rangers!
