Summary

Goku and his crew just won't take a rest. The Dragon Ball Z posse is back for another handheld outing in Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai 2 for the PSP.

In a break from the Dragon Ball Z norm - for a game, TV show or movie, Shin Budokai 2 takes place in a non-canon, alternate timeline. It's a kind of 'what if?' storyline, set in the alternate future where Future Trunks lives and Goku has died. There, Babidi appears setting into motion chains of events that drag in just about every character to ever grace the Dragon Ball Z franchise. This story mode provides a branching storyline where your actions can bring about multiple endings.

Of course, as with any Dragon Ball Z title, the heart of the game is good ol' fashioned beat 'em up action. Players will get the same frenzied melee of moves accompanied by long-range blasts that they came to expect in the first Shin Budokai title, but with tighter controls and camera movements.

And don't worry. Although Goku's dead in story mode, he's still on the list of playable characters in Z-Trial challenge mode along with Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, Cell and the rest of the gang.
