Summary

Naruto, he of the orange jumpsuit, blonde hair and crazy ninja ways, is back. And it's good news for his fans. In this day and age, Natuto is a pretty big deal in the Western world, as well as Japan, but those who are fond of the little guy have been forced to sit through some pretty average game tie-ins. With Rise of a Ninja, Ubisoft bucked the trend, blending action and adventure elements with the furious beat 'em up action that the anime series is famous for. Now, the company is looking to up its game, with a longer story mode and new features at which to try your hand.

The story follows episodes 81-135 of the anime. Naruto, having saved the village, has now been honoured as a respected ninja and a hero. Embittered by Naruto's success, his best friend Sasuke strikes out on his own and begins to tread a dark and dangerous path. It's up to Naruto and his friends to stop Sasuke and save him before it's too late.

Building on the plot's emphasis on friendship, the gameplay enables players to make use of Naruto's chums' unique abilities as they progress, solving problems the blonde ninja couldn't handle alone.

This is reflected online, where up to four players can go at it in tag team mode. Broken Bond also adds in Continual Tournament mode. Players start out on the street, fighting other gamers until they earn enough points to reach the rank of Genin, at which time they get to enter the tournament, battling to become Hokage. If they make it that far, they'll have to fight tooth and nail to hang on to that position for as long as possible.
