Summary

Wolverine's the best there is at what he does, and what he does has never been less pretty than in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. We mean that in the best possible way...

Wolverine, if you're not too familiar with the character, is a mutant with a rich and varied past, and it's that past that the blockbuster film and the game that shares its name plunder. Heading back to a more feral time in Wolverine's life than the X-Men years, the game takes you to his days at the sinister Weapon X project and beyond. Way beyond, actually. The game was in development while the film was but a twinkle in the studio's eye, and while it follows the movie's plot, it also mines Logan's back story from the comics, meaning as well as the likes of Sabretooth from the film, you'll get to fight the likes of a 250ft tall mutant-hunting sentinel!

Back in his bad old days, Logan was quite the killer. A beserker often running on pure, animal instinct, he wasn't averse to tearing opponents limb from limb using his indestructible adamantium claws, and developer Raven hasn't shied away from showing that in the game. Taking the form of a brawler, it gives players the chance to perform any number of brutally delicious kills, using both Wolverine's trademark claws and the environment. If you get it right, you'll be able to build up his beserker rage, enabling you to pull off even more savage attacks.

Fans of the comics will have plenty to keep them occupied, too. As well as being able to watch Logan heal in real time, you'll be able to unlock different costumes from his career, including the classic yellow and blue, brown and tan and X-Force outfits.

The claws are out, the gloves are off. Did you hear that? Yeah...'snikt'...
