Summary

The fitness genre has exploded on the Wii, and there's no denying it. The Family Trainer series is Namco Bandai's answer to the phenomenon, and it brings with it an extreme angle.

Family Trainer is a Wii Sports Resort style collection of extreme sports themed mini games which, like its predecessor, uses a custom dance-mat style controller. The mat is combined with the Wii Motion Controller to give an all over workout for users of the game. The game comprises 15 activities, with multi-player and time trial options. Activities include tricky and downright dangerous pastimes such as street luge, in-line skating, kite surfing, base jumping, acrobatic double dutch, BMX biking, skateboarding and rock climbing.

The game features cute cel-shaded graphics, and makes full use of the Wii with Mii integration, so you can play as... well, as you, basically - as long as you have taken the time to create a Wii Mii that represents yourself. So you can to zoom down the hilly streets of San Francisco on a street luge, climb the cliffs of the Grand Canyon, or kite-surf in the azure waters of the Pacific. And with full bod exercise from the combined hand and foot control method, Family Trainer: Extreme Challenge will be sure to get your heart pumping!
