Summary

Rise Of Flight is the latest in a long line of PC flight simulators featuring air combat over the Western Front during the First World War.

The game is a must-have for lovers of the flight simulation genre. The game renders landscapes in beautifully realistic ways. Whilst flying around you can see the no mans land, and the shells exploding and shattering. If you are flying low enough, you can see the clouds of smoke launched up from the explosion. Even whilst flying up in the clouds, the graphics are not forgotten about, clouds are there for cover, and are drawn in a truly realistic fashion. The weather effects are definitely not to be missed out on, with rain, clouds and even haze!

Users can take on missions from World War 1 as you dominate the skies with dogfighting. The planes stay true to the original models, even with fabric stretching being incorporated into the plane graphics. You can also watch your gauges move around in real-time, depending on your inputs.

The damage modeling is a high point of the game's graphics. You can see your bullets tearing through the enemy planes, and watch the planes disintegrate in ways that are almost true to real life. From the tiniest of rips in the fabric, to full on explosions of key pieces of the airframe, you can see it all.
