Summary

Beat City is a game with plenty of rhythm, and encourages players to find theirs in order to save the titular urban paradise from being drowned in monotony. It's all that Dame Isolde Minor's fault, really. Since she's found a way to gain control in Beat City, she has used her Cacophony Corporation to suck all of the colour out of the place.

As main protagonist Synchroniser, you have the power to reinvigorate your fellow citizens and save the city from certain boredom! Along the way Synchroniser will even fall in love with a girl named Beatrice – the story of Beat City will lead you on a path to revolution and true love. But first, you need to teach that Dame Isolde Minor and her cronies a lesson.

You do this by taking part in 20 different rhythm-based mini-games, using the Nintendo DS touchscreen to tap, swipe or hold on queue to the music's beat. Turn the handheld on its side, and tap in time to the city sounds – as you progress, you'll notice the surroundings transform before you.

The better you do, the more rewards and unlockables you earn for city decoration. But it won't be easy - everything from dull ravens to boring monochrome street performers will stand in your way, so you had best prepare yourself.
