Summary

Nickelodeon cartoons have always had a sense of adventure and activity about them. Even going as far back as Rugrats - babies going on epic journeys, who’d have thought? This generation of happy-go-explorers include Dora, Diego, Kai-lan and The Backyardigans - so who better to represent Nickelodeon’s new kids fitness game than these sprightly characters?

With the help of these familiar faces, kids can enjoy a fun and healthy exercise program that includes a range of different activities. Nickelodeon Fit was developed in collaboration with physical education and exercise science expert Dr. Jackie Goodway, and the result is a game that focuses on exactly the right areas of fitness.

30 exercise games are packed into the disc, and target cardiovascular activity, core muscles, upper and lower body strength, balance, motor skill development and foot and hand-eye coordination. That translates to skipping rope jumping with The Backyardigans, river rafting with Diego and pogo stick bouncing with Dora. You can use either the Wii Remote or the Balance Board to play these activities, which culminate in a relay race that teaches players how to build stamina.

Parents can give the game a good go with their children, and they can also check up on exercise progress, including game time and intensities of physical exertion. If adults are feeling really sneaky, they can set a customised workout routine for their kids to engage in the next time they load up the program.
