Summary
You thought your role-playing harvesting days were over? Get back to that farm! Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon is the sequel to last year's original spinoff from the classic Harvest Moon series. The fusion of genres made for an interesting and unique take on the adventure game, and Rune Factory 2 looks set to improve upon that newfound formula.
The story centres on a man who stumbles into the quiet town of Alvarna, with no recollection of who he is or what he's doing there. The daughter of a local farmer, Mana, helps him by giving him a plot of land and tools so that he may start a new life. As time passes, he prospers in harvesting, marries one of the locals and conceives a child.
One night, the man disappears after suddenly remembering his past and realising he still has a quest to fulfil. Years later, his child tends to the land he left behind, but starts to embark on a quest of their own – to find the father and understand why he went away.
The exciting gameplay of Rune Factory remains in this sequel, along with improvements such as more monsters, a bigger storyline and the chance to play through two generations of main characters.
