Summary

Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call comes with a plot that sets up the prequel storyline to the popular distinguished scholar and sleuth’s many adventures - gamers are tasked with solving Professor Layton’s very first challenge.

With a greater number of puzzles than any previous instalment in the series the game also has a role-playing game called Professor Layton's London Life that comes as a bonus game card. It lets players can experience life in Little London and has more than 100 hours of additional gameplay. Players can also customize their appearance and surroundings while collecting clues to uncover the origins of a mysterious fairy. It does not require the main game card to play.

The game sees academic Hershel Layton before global fame comes to him. He receives a mysterious letter from an old friend and, having read it, he travels to a country town called Misthallery.

It’s haunted – or that is what many believe – by a ghost that walks at night. The gamer must master logic, slide, picture, number and language puzzles as Layton’s clever assistant, Emmy Altava, to decipher the mysteries of the Misthallery phantom.

The game also sees the first meeting with Layton’s apprentice Luke Triton.

Once the initial game is completed, players will also be able to download more puzzles by connecting their Nintendo DS system to the Internet via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
