Summary

Milestone is famous for its incredibly realistic SBK Superbike simulation games, so fans won’t be surprised to find out that it’s trying its hand at replicating the Motocross experience in MUD: FIM Motocross World Championship. But, while the sport is pretty cool to watch on TV, Milestone has understood that it doesn’t necessarily translate too well to the video game space.

So what it’s done is present the virtual MX1 and MX2 championships with more of an arcade perspective. Not being too heavily based in simulation, MUD instead takes a few creative liberties and helps keep Motocross incredibly engaging for fans and casual players alike.

A brand new game engine is being touted for this title, along with a pretty impressive list of game modes and features - 12 Grand Prix races, taken from the 2011 FIM Motocross World Championship season, along with official locations and three huge arenas for freestyling purposes.

All the leading riders, teams and bikes will be present and correct, which makes for some authentic presentation in a sports game that features wild jumps, speed boosts (via energy drinks) and an accessible control system that focuses on one brake button and a simple-but-engaging handling mechanism. The World Tour also ensures that you’ll come back for some RPG-style goodness in an attempt for your rider to take home the top title!
