Summary
Rocksmith is a guitar-based game from Ubisoft that enables gamers to use and learn to play real guitars. The game includes the "Hercules" adapter that connects the standard 1/4 in (6.35 mm) output jack of a guitar to a USB plug that is compatible with the player's gaming hardware.
There is also a Rocksmith bundle that has an adapter, an Epiphone Les Paul Junior guitar, a strap, and two plectrums.
While Rocksmith is a challenging game, it is also aimed as a teaching aid that teaches 12 techniques: Sustains, Shifting, Hammer-Ons/Pull-Offs, Slides, Bends, Harmonics, Palm Mutes, Tremolo, Chords, Double Stops, Power-chords, and Barred chords.
Several mini-games are also included which range from arcade shooting style fun to a baseball-like game.
