The New York City of the 1980s was a dark, dangerous place. We've all seen the movies from the period - danger oozed from the place's pores. The Wolf Among Us takes us back there, with a heavy dose of hard-boiled noir. And, of course, a cast of fairytale escapees...
The Wolf Among Us is Telltale Games' second big foray into the world of comics, following their massive success with The Walking Dead. This time they've taken on Bill Willingham's Fables, a series that tells the story of fairytale characters (dubbed 'fables') that have escaped from their storybook realm and made it to the modern(ish) world. The Wolf Among Us follows Bigby Wolf (formerly the Big Bad Wolf) as the sherriff of Fabletown, the clandestine community of fables living in NYC. He has all the trappings of a noir detective of old, plus one of the three little pigs sleeping on his sofa...
As with other Telltale games, this is a third-person point and click adventure. Controlling Bigby, players will explore different environments in Fabletown, examining the environment and interacting with other characters as they try to keep the fables safe.
Fairytales might be right at the heart of The Wolf Among Us, but this is a gritty, mature game that Telltale fans and crime aficionados are going to love.
