Summary

While fans of racing sims are pretty well catered for with the likes of Forza, Project Cars and more niche titles like Assetto Corsa, there's a little less out there for fans of pick up and play arcade-style titles. Enter Milestone from stage left.

You might know the developer from its work on motorbike racers such as the MotoGP series, but here the studio is trying its hand at multi-discipline off-road racing. There are four different types of event to try your hand at - 'Wild Rush', combative races in off-the-beaten-track locations; Cross Country, with maps that offer a lot of leeway to explore and get lost; Speed Cross, real tracks and races for you to test your skills against and Stadium Circuit, featuring stadiums with massive jumps to set your stomach whirling.

In the single-player mode it's all wrapped up in the Gravel Channel and its Offroad Masters format, an annual program that will follow the player on their journey to fame and glory. Think a career mode with added bells and whistles.

This is the first Milestone game developed using Unreal Engine 4 and the studio is promising powerful visuals with realistic lighting and particle effects.

If you're looking to let rip and get dirty, this is your racer.
