Summary

It's about time we got Warriors All-Stars, frankly. Koei Tecmo's series have brushed past each other in the past, but nothing like this. The game pretty much does what it says on the box - it brings together an all-star cast from Tecmo Koei's Warriors series and other franchises and throws them together in an epic brawler in a way sure to get fans' pulses racing. Included are the likes of Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden, Yukimura Sanada from SAMURAI WARRIORS, William from Nioh, Kasumi from DEAD OR ALIVE, Zhao Yun from DYNASTY WARRIORS, Horo and Oka from Toukiden, and Sophie Neuenmuller from Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book.

The game begins with a mysterious land brought to the brink of destruction when a magical spring, the source of its power, dries up after the king's passing. The young princess performs a ritual to summon heroes from other realms but things go horribly wrong, scattering our heroes across the realm. Tamaki must recruit the best and brightest of these heroes in her quest to restore the spring and crown a new king, and that's where things really get moving.

The charm of Warriors All-Stars is, of course, in seeing these different heroes interact. The gameplay is the over the top brawler combat of the various Warriors games, and with a party system allowing you to pair the heroes up, utilising a 'regard' system to get them working together, All-Stars really plays to this strength. Throw in 'Hero Combos' and 'Hero Chains' in which players must string together the moves of multiple characters and you've got a Warriors game that really plays to the joy of having all these characters together on screen.
