Neptune is exploring brand new territory for the cheeky Neptunia series - the second dimension!
This latest venture into the world of Gamesindustri is a new twist on the parodical series, a 2D sidescrolling RPG. It still contains all the fun satirical pokes at the world and tropes of videogames, but it does it in a new style and with one less dimension. The challenge is to settle a pressing question once and for all - which is better, 2D or 3D?
Neptune has, alas, lost her memory again. She get up and at 'em, however, and is soon chatting to the shady Bombyx Mori organisation. Before she knows it she has a new job as a tax collector. The tax in question, however, is retro games cartridges of 2D games. In fact, anyone caught making games that have any extra dimensions will find themselves in prison, so maybe Neptune shouldn't be working for them after all...
The 2D environments you'll be running and jumping around are pretty lush and might remind fans of Japanese gaming of Odin Sphere or Dragon's Crown. When you get into a fight you'll have to manage your party of up to four in turn-based combat, so although navigation is a bit different to the usual longtime fans will feel right at home with the fighting.
