A veteran of composing music for computer and video games, Kyd's roots go back to the Commodore 64 scene in 1985-1988 and he was a major force in the European Amiga demo scene from 1988-1993. When his colleagues started IO Interactive (Freedom Fighters, Hitman series), Kyd built Nano Studios NYC and launched Jesper Kyd Productions, a full service music production company providing innovative and premier quality music scoring for cinematic game soundtracks. Kyd's ongoing collaboration with IO Interactive is presented in the best-selling Hitman game franchise, the latest of which, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (PS2/Xbox/GC/PC) received universal critical acclaim for its distinct and immersive soundtrack, including award nominations from IGN, GameSpot, GameSpy, and other industry accolades.

Jesper Kyd's music has enhanced best-selling titles for Activision, BioWare, Eidos, Electronic Arts, Konami, Microsoft, Sega, Shiny and Treyarch. His music for games has also been featured in promotional videos on G4TV, MTV, TNN, The SciFi Channel, USA Network and VH1. Of the titles listing Jesper within the credits , "Hitman 2: Silent Assassin" (Xbox), "Hitman 2: Silent Assassin" (PS2), "Brute Force" (Xbox), "Minority Report" (PS2), "Hitman: Codename 47" (PC) has been a best selling title.

Jesper's most recent involvement was as Musician/Sound Effects on the 2003 release "Freedom Fighters" (Xbox).
