Summary

Are you up for seriously fun superbike action on the Dreamcast? Introducing Ducati World, an addictive racing game featuring the awesome power of Ducati’s monster motorbikes. Ducati World has two types of game styles, Ducati Life and Quick race. The Ducati Life is a more simulation style of play while quick race allows you to jump straight into the racing. This title is your chance to ride some of the fastest bike on the planet.

In Ducati Life you must undertake various licence tests in order to be allowed to compete in the different categories of racing. You start the game with 10,000 credits to buy a bike a tune it up. Your initial bike will undoubtedly be of a slower pace but if you win races and money you can soon invest in a more powerful machine. Your bike is fully customisable and you can set it up for both the track and your own racing style.

Ducati World features all of Ducati’s bikes from past and present. Riding a 1950’s machine will help you appreciate the speed and handling advances made over the last 50 years.

The Dreamcast version of Ducati World could have been a lot better visually. It is apparent that this is a quick port of the PlayStation version and no major enhancements have been made. There is even a texture warping effect on the track that could have been ironed out.

What’s important in a game is feel and control and Ducati World definitely plays well. A decent motorbike simulation if you’re looking for one.
