Summary

Rarely seen since the days of the text based-adventure, investigate-em-ups such as The X-Files for PC quickly became notorious as some of the hardest games ever to appear on the shelves. But despite sometimes being a little frustrating, they are stimulating and ultimately enjoyable, so it surprises us that there aren’t very many of them around. Nevertheless, there is a new one for PC – it’s from Ubi Soft and it’s called Crime Scene Investigation.

A murdered woman... a slain police officer... a mysterious arson case. What do these crimes have in common? Enter the gritty world of CSI and search for the truth with Grissom, Catherine, and the entire Crime Scene Investigation team. Armed with high-powered forensic equipment and razor-sharp wits, delve deep into the mysteries of five baffling crime scenes to reveal the truth. Don't just watch the action. Live it.

As a rookie CSI agent, you have a lot to prove, and the only way to earn your investigator certification is solve six unique mysteries by way of forensic science techniques, intuition and initiative. Criminal activities include homicide, breaking and entering, robbery, assault and kidnapping – but it’s up to you to uncover the truth about these mysterious events.

With the freedom to take your work outside the sealed laboratory, you’ll be charged with the task of exploring the game’s dingy locales in search of clues, witnesses or any other valuable information. Much of your time will be spent interacting with other non-playable characters as you search for new leads. Some will be very talkative, others will be less willing. Can you persuade them?

CSI is a lovely looking game, featuring dozens of highly detailed environments with believable backdrops. But more importantly, it doesn’t disappoint as a game. It’s a hell of a thinker this one, but well worth a go.
