Aimed squarely at the younger end of the market, Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge brings the supercharged world of Mattel's legendary series to console once again, thanks to publisher THQ.
Stunt Track Challenge comes in the form of an episodic tale of TV stardom. Brought to the TV screen by presenter Ryan Storm, the Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge Game Show takes place in the Stunt Track Challenge Stadium, a giant arena surrounded by six Danger Parks. Each episode of the show takes place in the stadium and one of the parks. In Stunt Track Challenge, six contestants compete in two races and four stunt challenges. In each event, you'll need to finish in the top three to go on to the next event. At the conclusion of the events, the top three drivers go through to the next episode. Players can also re-visit past events to try to improve their score and position on the Leader Board.
Once you've played through the events in Challenge or Game Show, Arcade Mode opens up a new part of the game. Quick Play is where you can perfect your driving technique. There's also a multiplayer option with split-screen action on offer, and Stunt Battle, where you and a friend can choose a selection of Stunt Challenges and see just who is the true Stunt Master.
With bold, bright graphics and that 'just one more go' appeal, Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge is an ideal purchase for the younger, less demanding gamer. But then again, those of us who are considered old and in the way had a great time playing it too.
